Plant Manager and Co-Owner, Southeast DME LLC

As an alumnus himself, Timmy Morris knows firsthand the impact an education from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College can have on a person’s future. He began his educational career earning two associate degrees from ECTC – in Applied Science and Applied Technology, focusing on Industrial Maintenance Technology, Industrial Electricity and Residential Electricity.

“It’s incredibly beneficial to so many people in the community to have this resource close to home,” Morris said. “ECTC offers a first-rate educational opportunity that is more financially accessible than other colleges and universities.”

Morris’ time at ECTC led to his role as maintenance supervisor for Altec Industries. In his 13 years there, he further advanced his training in leadership and business management, which contributed to his current role as plant manager and co-owner of Southeast DME LLC, located in LaRue County.

Morris would like to use his time on the ECTC Foundation board to learn from other board members and, in turn, share his own experience.

“I want to further advocate for connecting the exceptional education provided through the college with the surrounding industries,” he said. “That connection leads to more students staying in the region for employment instead of seeking opportunities elsewhere, which is how we can contribute to and support a highly skilled workforce.”

Morris is acting chairman for the LaRue County Planning and Zoning Commission and serves as vice chairman for the LaRue County Board of Adjustments. He and his wife, Lindsey, live in Hodgenville with their two children.
